Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.
Victory also indicates he has won 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved service.
He recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to force a third set.
The opponent defended four early chances in a tight third set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
